Maharatna public enterprise ONGC has secured awards in 4 categories in the PSU Champions Awards 2013, organized by leading magazine Governance Now.  ONGC came out the winner in Asset Utilization category, and runners-up in Strategic Performance, Human Resource Utilization and Strategic Turnaround categories.

In collaboration with the Institute for Competitiveness, India and India Strategy Group, a jury of select experts and editors finalised the winners. Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Mr. Praful Patel gave away the awards at Delhi on 24th July 2013.

Addressing the PSU chiefs after the award ceremony, Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Mr. Praful Patel said that public enterprises have contributed significantly to the growth of the Indian economy, especially in strategic sectors. While the public sectors need to change continuously according to the changing global paradigm, some Indian public sectors have done a commendable job by establishing themselves as globally competitive business corporations.
