For the management and workmen at Rajahmundry, safety is 24x7 and entwined with its operations for realising set targets. All installations, rigs and work centres of the asset are ISO certified and the management is committed to uphold this culture. Bio-fuel technology, a clean development mechanism, implemented in one of the rigs in Rajahmundry Asset has resulted in saving High Speed Diesel and earned carbon credits for the company. Rajahmundry Asset has been consistently bagging the National Safety awards for both production and drilling mines since last seven years. Its upstream and downstream operations include East and West Godavari and Krishna districts.

OISD is a technical directorate under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. The criteria for evaluation of the Safety Award is based on a number of parameters, such as Complexity, Hazard Potential, Hydrocarbon Volumes handled, Incident free Man-hours, Incidents of fires & accidents, Safety Management System etc.

Further, one of the major conditions for selecting the winning organization is that there should not have been any major fire or fatality, during the year. In addition, ‘Consistent Safety Performance’ award is given to those organizations whose performance for the last three consecutive years fulfils the above criteria.
