The message “ONGC is the country’s most prolific supporter of sports & sportspersons” has once again been highlighted with FICCI conferring their prestigious - India’s ‘Best Sports Promoting Company’ award for a second consecutive year on ONGC.

ONGC has bagged the FICCI sports award for the third time in a span of twelve years which speaks volumes of the management’s commitment towards sports promotion in the country.

It is the first time that FICCI has conferred its award on the same organisation in successive years.

The achievement is a result of our management’s vision and the relentless support and thrust that continues till date. The Corporate Sports Division (CSD) led by Mr V K Mahendru, ably supported by his team of Game Coordinators and CSD Staff are mentors to 347 sportspersons (180 sportspersons on roll of ONGC and 167 scholarship players).  These 347 achievers have dedicated the following proud performances to their beloved organisation in the year gone by:

1. National Awards – four “Arjuna Awards” - Rupesh Shah (Billiards), Virat Kohli (Cricket), Amit Kumar Saroha (Athletics) and Rajkumari Rathore (Shooting).
2. Eleven “National Champion” Crowns – Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Billiards, Carrom, Chess, Table Tennis, Shooting and Volleyball.
3. PSPB – ONGC has won “Petroleum Minister’s Trophy” for the 10th consecutive year.  This year’s hunt of PSPB titles has seen ONGC win Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Billiards & Snooker, Kabaddi and Table Tennis with a few more events yet to be conducted.
4. AIPSSPB – ONGC is the overall title winner since 2010-11.  This year ONGC is the proud host cum winner of both Athletics & Hockey AIPSSPB Tournaments while a few more tournaments remain to be conducted by member PSUs to complete the calendar.
5. Innumerable international & national tournaments have been won in the 23 sports disciplines that ONGC supports
