ONGCian chess grandmaster SP Sethuraman conferred with CM's State Sports Award

Chess grandmaster SP Sethuraman of ONGC has been conferred with "Chief Minister's State Sports Award for Outstanding Sportspersons" for the year 2009-10 by the Government of Tamil Nadu. Mr Sethuraman received the award from Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami. He was among the 30 sportspersons who were felicitated by the State Government at the Chief Secretariat in Chennai on 8 February 2021 for their achievements in sports over the past several years.

Mr Sethuraman, Senior HR Executive posted at Chennai, is a former Asian Chess Champion and currently ranked sixth in the country.
