SMP is the flagship of Technical Services. The institute was established as a 'Single Window' with the aim to provide comprehensive technical development of Maintenance Engineers and Graduate Trainees (GTs) of technical disciplines viz. Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation and Electronics by imparting specialization trainings through OEM/OES/reputed govt. institutes/ internal faculty.

Motto of SMP is “Safer, Better and Cheaper Operations”.

The institute collaborated with industry leaders such as Drillmec, Solar, ABB, Caterpillar and Cummins to deliver advanced modules on turbines, top drive systems, draw works, mud pumps, iron roughneck, PT pump calibration, VFD system. With a compact team, SMP remains committed to training ONGC’s field executives on the latest technologies, ensuring reliability, efficiency, and future readiness of ONGC’s upstream operations.

Economy Measures

SMP organizes trainings for GTs and field personnel of technical discipline. These trainings by SMP facilitate optimum utilization of Oil field equipment and hence improve the availability of critical equipment for our operations.

Future Plan

The future plan of SMP is to train our field executives on the latest technology as and when inducted. SMP also plans to conduct trainings for newly promoted E1 and below grade level staff through internal faculty and refresher course for O&M contractor as a pilot project.
