Torrential rains in southern parts of Tamil Nadu had hit more than two million people. Most of the people rendered homeless and remaining people houses got inundated by the flood waters.

On Friday, the 6 December 2015, a team of villagers from Palayapalyam Village, Madanam, visited Cauvery Asset, Karaikal, at 18.00 hrs. requested to provide a blanket and bed sheet to 1500 families affected by the incessant rain.

Madanam Field is a promising one, where Field Development programme is undergoing in a massive way – 10 Development wells are to be drilled in the near future, after the discovery of MD#3 and MD#5 and new gas filed was also found inside Madanam field.

Based on the instructions and guidance from ED –AM and GGM (HDS) Team Cauverians swung in to action and obtained approval from Director (Onshore) for providing relief materials – Blanket and a Bed sheet – to the flood affected victims of Palayapalayam Village of Madanam area.The same day, the materials (1500 nos of Blanket and 1500 nos of Bed sheet) wereprocured bythe committee members.

Mr SekharChakraborty, GGM (HDS) officiating Asset Manager  along with Heads of the Departments were present at PalayapalayamVillage and distributed the relief materials to 481 people affected by the flood on the first day.

On the day two, Mr. B Ashok Kumar, GM-HR & SM and Mr. N P Sridharr, GM – Surface Manager along with Area Managers distributed the relief materials to 794 people of Palayapalyam Village of Madanam area thus making total number of beneficiaries to 1275 villagers covering 9 wards.

Ration Card was verified and tokens were issued for identification of the beneficiaries.  Tahsildar on deputation Mr. Vijayakumar, Mr. V Mohanakrishnan, SR HRE-LAQ, Mr. P Sundararajan, DGM (P) – SST and Mr. V Sivakumar, CE (P) – Installation Manager MDM#3 EPT have done due exercise in documenting the details of beneficiaries. Office bearers of PEU and AISCSTEWA have extended their service in identification process.

Collectives volunteered to join the Management in extending their service for distribution of relief materials.  ASTO President, Cauvery Asset – Mr. P R Kumar, PEU General Secretary,Cauvery Asset, Mr. D Mahesan, AISCSTEWA Chairman, Cauvery Asset,Shri V Ashok Kumar, AIOBC&MOBC Chairman,Cauvery Asset, Mr. N.Sivasankar and their Office bearers have actively participated in distribution of the material.

Last but not the least, Mr. P Soundararajan, CE (C) has taken initiative and coordinated with the Village Panchayat President and villagers for smooth distribution of relief materials.
