IWCF WELL INTERVENTION PRESSURE CONTROL COURSE (IWCF-WIP)

WCS at IDT, Dehradun acquired IWCF-WIP accreditation in August 2006 for conducting well control courses for well services personnel. This program is based on well control requirement during well servicing operations with exposed flow capable hydrocarbon bearing zones. It covers topics like standard procedures and principles during intervention and completion equipment along with one optional topic to be chosen by candidate from coil tubing, snubbing & wire-line operations.

COURSE CONTENT
Day 1 Pressure Basics, Barrier Theory & Contingency procedure, Inflow testing, Completion Equipment
Day 2 Assignment discussion, Drillers, Wait & Weight and Volumetric methods of killing, Bull heading. Unusual situations in well control, Hydrate formation, Equipment specific requirements.
Day 3 Well Intervention Services, Pressure control equipment for Coil Tubing, Wireline and Snubbing.
Day 4 Assignment discussion, Mock test & discussion,
Day 5 Completion Equipment Exam, Completion Operation Exam, Optional Paper(Coil Tubing, Wireline and Snubbing) Exam

IWCF EXAMINATION

For certification eligibility, a candidate has to pass in two compulsory papers and selected optional papers. Examinations are conducted online under the invigilation of IWCF examiner. Participants have to score minimum of 70% in each of the tests to qualify for the IWCF certificate. Validity of the IWCF certificate is two years. If a participant fails in any one of the paper, he can re-sit in the failed paper within 90 days. Two attempts are allowed for re-sit during this period. If a candidate fails in two or more papers he has to come as a fresh candidate.
