ONGCian Ankita Raina bags Singles and Doubles Title in WTA International Ranking Tournament

ONGC Tennis player and currently India's Number One Ms Ankita Raina asserted her growing confidence with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Britain’s Naiktha Bains, in the final of the Precision $25,000 ITF women’s tennis tournament. The Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) International ranking tournament was conducted in Solapur of India from 2-8 December 2019.

This is the second singles title of this season for the 26-year-old Ankita, who had won a similar title in Singapore. It was also the first time Ankita beat the 21-year-old Naiktha Bains, who is currently ranked 249 in the world, to whom she had lost rather tamely on grass in Nottingham last year.

It was a happy outing for Ankita in Solapur, as she had earlier won the doubles title with Ulrikke Eikeri of Norway.

Ankita Raina has been consistently performing well in the national and International circuit, bringing laurels to ONGC.
