The company is managed by the Board of Directors, which formulates strategies, policies and reviews its performance periodically. Chairman and the five Whole-Time Directors, viz. Director (Technology & Field Services), Director (Finance), Director (Production), Director (Exploration) and Director (Human Resources), manage the day-to-day business affairs of the company under the overall supervision, control and guidance of the Board.

Arun Kumar Singh
Chairman
Arun Kumar Singh has joined as the Chairman & CEO of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC). He assumed the charge as the Chief of the Energy Maharatna on 7 December 2022.
A Mechanical Engineer from National Institute of Technology, Patna, he has over 36 years of diversified experience in Oil & Gas industry, in India and abroad.
Earlier, he was the CMD of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), a ‘Maharatna’ and a Fortune Global 500 Company.
He was also Chairman of Indraprastha Gas Ltd. (IGL) a Joint Venture (JV) City Gas Distribution (CGD) Company, listed on Indian bourses. He was also on the Board of Petronet LNG Ltd (PLL), a Joint Venture Company, listed on Indian bourses.
He has also held the position of President (Africa & Australia) in Bharat Petro Resources Ltd, a wholly owned Subsidiary of BPCL, engaged in exploration of Oil & Gas, largely overseas.
Speaking after joining, Mr Singh said that ONGC has a key role to play in the ongoing Energy Transition. “One of my first steps would be to bring the operational direction of the national oil company more in alignment with the national energy strategy.”

Om Prakash Singh
Director (T&FS)
Om Prakash Singh spearheads the Drilling & Well Services verticals of this Maharatna E&P Company. Also a Director on the Board of OTPC, a subsidiary of ONGC, and NETC, a JV of OTPC, Mr Singh is on several Board Level Committees of ONGC and the ONGC Group of Companies.
Apart from the Field Services, he is the Director looking after Technical Services, IT Operations, and Information Security of the Company.
He is the Executive Board member of SCOPE – Standing Conference on Public Sector Enterprises. He chairs the SCOPE Committee on Digital Transformation and is a member of the Committee on Sustainable Development and Climate Change.
He also held the Charge of Director-I/c MM of ONGC during the crucial COVID-19 period and had been instrumental in nurturing ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiatives. Under his leadership, GeM procurements have been on an ever-rising trend. New Vendors were developed and procurement policies were further streamlined in line with government directives. Under his remarkable leadership, ONGC procured 1 lakh oxygen concentrators in a record time on behalf of the Government of India during the coronavirus pandemic.
Mr Singh also has the responsibility of two prestigious institutes of ONGC – Institute of Drilling Technology, Dehradun – a Center of Excellence in Drilling Technology, and School of Maintenance Practices, Vadodara which provides support and training for Field Maintenance Services.
A distinguished Mechanical Engineer, Mr Singh has more than 34 years of extensive National and International exposure in E&P operations – both Onshore as well as Offshore. Mr Singh has risen through the ranks of ONGC and has commanded various leading positions prior to taking over as Director. His role in managing ONGC Tripura Asset, Nhava Supply Base, Mumbai, challenging Deepwater drilling projects in India, and overseas projects in Vietnam, Iran, Qatar, and Brazil have been praiseworthy.
Mr Singh led from the front and ensured that the Drilling & Wellfield services continued to perform even during the pandemic. The supply lines were maintained and required IT & other technological support to Work from Home (WFH) was extended to the employees to ensure business continuity.
Mr Singh has been an ardent advocate of infusing the latest technology and digitalization for improved efficiency and productivity. Under his leadership, the Company is moving on a path of Digital transformation. The latest industry 4.0 technologies are being inducted. A Digital Center of Excellence has been established & SAP has been upgraded to the latest S4-HANA and Production & Drilling SCADA has been upgraded – to name a few. The Concept of a Digital oil field shall be a reality very soon under his leadership.
ONGC Energy Center under him has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Ladakh for harnessing Geo-Thermal Energy in the Ladakh Region. An OEC-funded project with IITs on harnessing Hydrogen in a safe and efficient manner has also been successful.
He is an avid learner and has passed the extremely rigorous & prestigious Non-Executive Director Diploma course from Financial Times, UK with distinction.
A humble, down-to-earth, and suave person, he is known for his highly personal and professional ethics. A strong disciplinarian and task master with a humane touch is what makes him stand out.

Pankaj Kumar
Director (Production)
Pankaj Kumar has taken over charge of Director (Offshore) of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) on 4th September, 2021. As Director (Offshore), he is responsible for the entire gamut of Offshore Fields contributing around 70% of Oil and 78% of Natural Gas production of ONGC.
Mr Kumar is a thorough Oil & Gas industry professional with more than 34 years of experience across ONGC’s business functions varying from Operations Management of Offshore and Onshore fields, Well Engineering, Joint Venture Management, Corporate Strategic Management and Asset Management.
During this period he has held key positions as Chief of Corporate Strategy & Planning group of ONGC and Asset Manager of Cambay Asset and Ahmedabad Assets. Sustainable production enhancement from mature fields of Ahmedabad & Cambay is another testimony to his impeccable Asset & Project Management skills.
He is known for his visionary approach and dynamic decision making with excellent performance records. During his stint in Joint Venture (JV) Operations Group, Shri Kumar was instrumental in exceptional turnaround of CB-OS/2 Offshore JV block by making it profitable with almost 100% increase in production and delivering complex offshore projects in Panna-Mukta & Tapti block, on-time and within allocated budget. Shri Kumar’s immense contribution in formulation of ONGC’s Long Term Growth Strategy: Energy Strategy 2040 as Chief Corporate Strategy & Planning is remarkable.
During his tenure as Asset Manager of the largest onshore Asset of ONGC at Ahmedabad, Country faced worst ever Pandemic and the lock down situation. Under his dynamic leadership during severe lock-down conditions Asset having 67 installations continued operations on round the clock basis and maintained production
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from University of Roorkee (now IIT Roorkee) and Master’s degree in Process Engineering from IIT Delhi. He completed Advance Management Program at IIM, Bengaluru and Leadership Development Program at IIM, Calcutta.

Pomila Jaspal
Director (Finance)
Pomila Jaspal has taken over as Director (Finance) of ONGC on 19 April 2022. Prior to this, Ms Jaspal served as Director (Finance) in Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL) - Schedule ‘A’ CPSE and subsidiary of ONGC, since October 2019.
She has also served as Director on the Board of ONGC Mangalore Petrochemicals Limited (OMPL), Petronet Mangalore Hassan Bangalore Limited (PMHBL) and ONGC Petro additions Limited (OPaL).
Ms Jaspal is a fellow member and gold medalist of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India. She is a recipient of the Late Mrs Dhanpati Goel Gold Medal from the Institute. She has obtained a degree in B.Com. (Hons) from MCM DAV College, Chandigarh, and M.Com. from the Punjab University.
She has 36 years of experience across varied segments of the oil & gas industry, encompassing operating, regulatory and policy aspects of upstream and downstream industry.
Ms Jaspal was instrumental in the merger of OMPL with MRPL, paving the way for synergy and integration benefits for the ONGC Group. As Director (Finance) of MRPL, she focused on the restructuring of the borrowing portfolios leading to a lower effective rate of interest.

Sushma Rawat
Director (Exploration)
Ms. Sushma Rawat, Executive Director-Basin Manager, Assam & Assam Arakan Basin and OSD – Exploration, has taken over the charge of Director (Exploration), ONGC from 1 January 2023. She takes over the reins of Nation's top Exploration position in the flagship NOC E&P Company, after earlier Director (Exploration) Rajesh Kumar Srivastava superannuated on 31 December 2022. Ms. Rawat is also on Board of ONGC Tripura Power Company Limited; she had been on the Board of ONGC Petro Additions Ltd.
An industry veteran with 33 years experience and Exploration Manager par excellence with diverse professional and industry expertise, she brings with her a richness and diversity of perspectives that will benefit the organization in its exploration strategies.
As Basin Manager of A&AA Basin, her dynamic efforts catalyzed several new technologies; some of the noteworthy ones are : Node Based Seismic Data Acquisition system, Passive Seismic Tomography (PST), Airborne Hydrocarbon Sensing Survey (AHSS) which are of paramount importance for geologically complex and logistically difficult terrains of Assam Arakan Fold Belt areas. She has been the guiding energy behind the resolution of various long-pending issues like exploration in DAB areas, the simplification of Forest clearance and LAQ process. Realizing the significance of industry academia collaboration, her initiatives resulted in MOUs being signed with North East Hill University NEHU, Shillong and CSIR-NEIST, Jorhat, to carry out collaborative projects under strategic alliances.
A Post-Graduate in Geology, she has an "International Certificate Program in Business Management" course at ASCI, Hyderabad and at Faculty of Economics, University of Ljubljana (FELU), Slovenia, in 2014, under the aegis of DPE.
She started her career as GT in ONGC as an operations geologist at Cauvery Basin in 1989. After stints at KDMIPE Dehradun followed by Kerala-Konkan Basin in Mumbai, she joined KDMIPE in 2013 with the responsibility of realizing first Basin-scale 3D Petroleum System Modelling on a regional framework for Mumbai Offshore Basin, and followed by KG Basin 3D PSM. Under her dynamic leadership, Basin scale 3D-Petroleum Systems modeling of 11 Basins, including AAFB was carried out. This earned her the distinction of being an experienced and outstanding Basin and Petroleum System Analyst as well as an expert Exploration Process Analyst and Implementer. Her outstanding contribution was recognized through the CMD Award in 2015 for leading a team in ‘Maiden basin scale study in ONGC to understand the petroleum systems of category I & II sedimentary basins of India’.
Ms. Rawat, as an integral part of Government of India’s initiative for appraising the un-appraised basins of the country and bringing new areas in exploration fold, headed the MDT team for Resource reassessment of Mumbai Offshore Basin under "Re-assessment of Hydrocarbon Resources for Sedimentary Basins and Deep-Water areas of India". She was the core team member of the Central Team for 26 basins from 2015-2017.
Ms. Rawat was the Lead member of the ONGC team for identifying and assessing of new areas in Cat-I, Cat-II and Cat-III basins of the country based on the data available in-house and new NSP data. She was also the Nodal person for working out the requirement and techno-financial details of parametric wells and planning of NSP lines in all Lesser Explored Basins (Cat-II & III) and un-probed areas of Cat-I basins of India. Her Work-flow for PFA (Play Fairway Analysis) based on 3D BPSM studies became a template & standard Work-Flow for subsequent PFAs done in ONGC and Resource Assessment. She was the team leader for an initiative on “Building Capabilities in Advanced Exploration” as a part of ONGC’s Long Term Energy Strategy 2040.
Her visionary work on “Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation & Benchmarking of R&D Projects in an Integrated National Oil Company", presented at ASCI Hyderabad and “Process & Parameters - Driver for Furtherance of Exploration Investment” presented at FIPI R&D Conclave-2019 were widely acclaimed by the E&P fraternity.
She has published a number of technical papers in national and international forums which includes technical presentations made in EAGE & SEG platforms abroad. An avid geologist, she participated in and organized numerous Geological Field workshops on Modern Deltas in Kakinada, Cretaceous of Trichinapalli, Jurassic of Kutch, Triassic of Spiti, as well as Himalayan Foreland basin around Mussoorie-Dehradun & the tectonic realm of Karakoram-Zanskar around Leh. She has been actively associated as a founding member of various geotechnical societies along with organizing International G&G Conferences like PETROTECH and GEO-India.
Considering ONGC’s Exploration thrust for bringing up more Category II and III basins to the Hydrocarbon Map of India, the exploration fraternity of ONGC is looking up to her valuable stewardship in the domain of Data-driven decision optimization in oil and gas value chain.

Manish Patil
Director (Human Resource)
Manish Patil joined as the Director (Human Resource) of the Energy Maharatna Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) on May 5, 2023.
A Mechanical Engineer from the Government Engineering College, Raipur, Mr Patil also holds an Executive MBA degree from the University of Ljubljana, an Advanced Diploma in Cyber Laws from Government Law College, apart from a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resources Management (HRM).
Mr Patil is a thorough energy professional having worked across locations and functions with the downstream Maharatna and Fortune 500 energy Company, Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IndianOil). He brings with him, a rich and varied experience of over three decades, spanning Operations & Supplies, Information Systems and Management Services in HR. Mr Patil’s key profiles include being the Regional HR Head at IndianOil’s Northern Regional Office, followed by a fruitful stint as the Head of Institutional Business in the Southern Region. He has also served as an Executive Director of HR & CSR at IndianOil’s Corporate Office.
Mr Manish Patil’s extensive experience in the midstream and downstream sector will be an asset to ONGC, with its rich talent pool of 26,000+ energy professionals.

Praveen Mal Khanooja
Government Nominee Director
Praveen Mal Khanooja is currently working as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas. Prior to this assignment, he was Director General, Petroleum Planning & Analysis Cell (PPAC), an attached office of the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas since November 2019.
Mr Khanooja is a B Tech in Chemical Engineering and M Tech in Management & Systems. He belongs to 1994 batch of Indian Audit & Accounts Service (IA&AS) and has worked in various capacities in Defence Audit, Railways Audit, State Government Accounts & Audit at many field and Headquarters’ postings. He has also earlier served as Director (Finance) for the Department of Revenue and Central Board of Excise & Customs; Expert in the State Audit Institution, Sultanate of Oman and Additional DG in the Central Economic Intelligence Bureau.
He has conducted Compliance and Performance Audits of FAO, Rome; WIPO, Geneva, WTO, Spain; GFMD Geneva, and UNITAID Geneva.
He is a very avid reader and has participated in many discussions making considered suggestions on many energy related issues at various forums.

Manish Pareek

Mr Manish Pareek is a Practicing Advocate, a writer and a dynamic debater. He is a Law Graduate and also Masters in Business Administration from Rajasthan University, Jaipur. In addition, he holds Post Graduation Diploma in Labour Laws.
Mr Pareek is Former Deputy Mayor of Jaipur and has also served as the Councillor for more than two terms of Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC). Being a Councillor, he served as the Chairman of Bylaws Committee and Head of Sanitation Inspection Committee of the JMC.

Mr Syamchand Ghosh has a Master's Degree in Economics from North Bengal University; and B.Ed. (Bachelor's in Education) from North Bengal University.
Mr Ghosh is a social worker and Educationist. Being a teacher/ Head Master, Hostel Superintendent and also member of School Managing Committee, under his dynamic leadership school progressed very well. Mr Ghosh joined as assistant teacher with a High School in 1981. He was promoted and worked as Head Master of the School during April 2010 to July 2017, till superannuation. He also worked as part-time NCC Officer.
As a teacher, Mr Ghosh has been helpful to students and nurtured underprivileged students with free tuition and books/ stationery. Dr. Prabhaskar Rai

Dr Prabhaskar Rai is professor of psychology. He has been teaching graduate and postgraduate students for the last 33 years. He has been working as principal of a Degree College for the last three years. Presently, he is the principal of LR Degree College Jasrana, Firozabad of UP, which is affiliated to Dr BR Ambedkar University in Agra. He was awarded PhD in 2004 by Dr BR Ambedkar University, Agra. Four students have completed their research work for award of PhD degree in Psychology under his mentorship. His research area is social psychology and psychology of personality. He has attended more than 30 national and international seminars and conferences and has published 23 research papers in various national and international research journals.
He had also organized a national seminar of Indian Psychological Association in 1991. Recently, he has written a book of Psychology namely 'Moolbhoot Manovaigyanik Prakriyaye', which was published in 2021 on the guidelines of New Education Policy 2021. He is the recipient of two national awards in Psychology i.e. Mrs Varalakshmi and Prof Rajamancken Veteran Eminent Psychological Award 2016 and A B Vajpayee National Development Award 2017.
He took the Army training of 6 months at various stages and worked as Associate NCC Officer along with teaching assignment. He commanded the U P contingent of NCC in Republic Parade in 1999. Dr. Madhav Singh

Dr Madhav Singh is a practicing doctor by profession and also a social worker, a debater and a human resource management coordinator. He acquired his graduation degree from Maharaja College Jaipur (Rajasthan University), where he held various posts in student union. He was also a NCC cadet during his student life. Dr. Singh completed his MBBS degree from SMS Medical College Jaipur. As a professional doctor, he served in various hospitals of Delhi.
In 1991, Dr Singh joined Government Service in Rajasthan and after serving 11 years, took voluntary retirement from service in 2002. Subsequently, he settled in Shrimadhopur (Sikar) and has been actively involved in social services by providing medical services to underprivileged people.
Dr. Singh is associated with Rotary International, where he held position of Assistant Governor (Rajasthan and Gujarat) and was also President of Rotary Club Shrimadhopur (Sikar). Dr Singh has worked for various welfare activities like blood donation camps, free eye operation camps, multispecialty medical mega camps, homeopathy medical camps and has performed over 25,000 deliveries till now. For his contribution to society, Dr Singh has been honored several times at District and State level by the Government of Rajasthan.
Dr Singh has been awarded with best Rotarian by Jaipur Rotary Club, Matdata Jagruk Award by District Magistrate and occasions of Republic Day and Independence Day.
Dr Singh has attended more than 100 National and State level conferences. In COVID-19 epidemic, he started 24 hrs Helpline services on which he personally attended all calls and extended services of medicines, oxygen, accommodations and counseled them regularly till date.
