Renowned mentalist Mr. Karan Singh convened the motivational session of Petrotech 2019. He is a master of illusion and goes by the moniker ‘Karan Singh Magic’, but to call him a magician undermines the specifics of his craft. He ensures that his acts are fresh and they do not rely on parlor tricks. As a psychological illusionist, he relies on keen intuitive abilities to read people’s thoughts. He recommended the audience to maintain a balance between what they love and what they do.
The session commenced by airing Mr. Karan Singh’s interaction with various celebrities and how he managed to charm them. Karan Singh, while engaging with the audience mentioned how he has been mesmerized with the concept of psychological illusions from a very young age. He also shared the memory of the time when he created his first trick as a 17-year old in 2008.
He said that while he makes his living on the corporate circuit, one common question that keeps coming back to him is how corporate professionals always ask him to make their wives disappear.
Mr. Singh recalled that when he was eleven, he met a magician named Ishabuddin Khan, who taught him his first two tricks: one with a pack of cards, and another with a handkerchief and a coin. Mr. Singh also interacted with the crowd and made them a part of the show. He stated that most magicians tend to use many props, but for him the only essential one is his ‘audience.’
He concluded the session by quoting that ‘‘If you do something, do it so well that the work is happy that you did it”. Throughout the session, he successfully inspired and motivated the audience to do what they love the most.
