The 13th edition of the international oil and gas conference and exhibition, Petrotech 2019 was inaugurated in the august gathering of ministers and delegates from around 60 participating countries by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Mr. Narendra Modi. Present with him on the dais were Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Aditya Nath and Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan.

Addressing the crowd of energy sector enthusiasts and the media, Mr. Narendra Modi affirmed, “Solar energy and other renewable energy sources have become more competitive today. They are emerging as sustainable substitutes for traditional energy forms.” He added, “We are entering an era of greater energy availability. But more than a billion people across the globe still do not have access to electricity. Many more do not have access to clean cooking fuel. India has taken a lead in addressing these issues of energy access. People must have access to clean, affordable, sustainable and equitable supply of energy.”

“India remains an attractive market for energy companies with energy demand expected to grow more than double by 2040.We have adopted an integrated approach towards energy planning. Energy justice can be done only when people believe in collective power. Government is only an enabler in converting that belief into a reality”, he further said.

Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber for his unique contribution towards shaping the world’s energy structure with his intellectual leadership, insight clear vision and practical guidance.
