India’s Integrated Energy Company, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation celebrated its 63rd Anniversary today across all regions and work centers in the country. The Maharatna has played a major role in shaping India’s energy scape for over six decades of its existence, discovering six of the seven producing basins in the country, in addition to leading India’s quest for energy sufficiency.

Speaking on the occasion, CMD ONGC, Mr. Shashi Shanker said, “In the last 63 years, ONGC has scripted India’s hydrocarbon saga and has put India into the World Oil Map. We have drawn a strategic plan to enhance oil and gas production from our domestic and overseas assets so that the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of 10% reduction in oil import by 2022 is materialized.”

At the corporate headquarters in Dehradun, ONGC Foundation Day was organized on a grand scale. On his arrival, CMD ONGC Mr. Shashi Shanker laid a wreath at the Martyr’s Memorial followed by a two minute silence as a mark of honour to those who sacrificed their lives for ONGC and the Nation.   Mr. Shashi Shanker then unfurled the ONGC flag in the forecourt of Subir Raha Oil Museum at Tel Bhavan. He was accompanied by Directors of ONGC and ONGC Videsh Limited. The ONGC Pledge was then administered by CMD to a large gathering of employees.
