Mr. Shashi Shanker has taken over as the Chairman and Managing Director of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) on 1 October 2017, at the Energy Maharatna’s registered office at Vasant Kunj in New Delhi.
Mr. Shanker is an industry veteran with over 35 years of experience in diverse activities across the E&P value chain. Prior to his appointment as Director (Technology &a Field Services) in 2012, he had steadily progressed through senior management hierarchies in various work-centers, including the Institute of Drilling Technology at Dehradun, West Bengal Project, Assam Project and Deep Water group at Mumbai.
Mr. Shashi Shanker is a petroleum engineer from the Indian School of Mines (ISM), Dhanbad. He also holds an MBA degree with specialization in Finance and has received executive grooming from the prestigious Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow (IIM-Lucknow) and Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad.
