As the guardian and leader of the oil behemoth that ONGC is, CMD, ONGC, Mr. D K Sarraf was conferred the award for ‘Legend CMD of the Year’ for ‘Turning ONGC into the Highest Profit Making PSU’ during the News Ink National Awards 2016, held at Hotel Grand Hyatt, Mumbai on July 18, 2016.

The citation was received by GGM-Head Regional Office, S Gopinath, on behalf of Chairman & Managing Director, ONGC, D K Sarraf, who could not be present due to pressing assignments. The award was handed over by Chairperson, SBI, Ms. Arundhati Bhattacharya.

While addressing the gathering, Mr. Gopinath said, “ONGC has been committed to the cause of energy security of the nation and added that the award will be a great motivator in carrying the mantle forward.” These awards are the true recognition for devotion and result orientation of our top management, who is a custodian of values and trust while striving to set new yardsticks in corporate sustainability practices, he added.

Not just in the 25 sectors in India but also the 17 countries that we are present in worldwide, ONGC’s aim has always been sustainable growth, making a difference in all the areas that the organization operates in, remarked Mr. Gopinath.
