CMD ONGC, Mr. Sudhir Vasudeva receiving the Trophy for Excellence in Sports for the year 2011-12

Mr. Sudhir Vasudeva, CMD ONGC & Chairman, ONGC Group of Companies has taken over charge as President, All India Public Sector Sports Promotion Board (AIPSSPB) on July 14, 2012. AIPSSPB is an apex body of the Public Sector Undertakings formed for promoting the cause of sports in the country.

He has close to three decades of rich and diversified experience.

ONGC was also awarded successively for second year the coveted "Trophy for Excellence in Sports" for the year 2011-12. Among the 33strong membership of the largest conglomerate of public sector undertakings 'AIPSSPB', ONGC emerged numero uno with 110 points.

Mr. Vasudeva while speaking on the occasion highlighted ONGC's contribution to the London Olympics 2012 wherein 16 ONGCians are in the fray (13 for main Olympics & 3 for Paralympics) and expressed his happiness over the fact that nearly 25 to 30 sportspersons (including the ONGCians) belonging to the PSUs had earned their place in the Indian Contingent for the London Olympics.
