Plant Manager S K (Left) Plant Manager S K Sahu welcomes Ashwani Datt; (right) explains the role of Uran Plant Member of the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) Mr. Ashwani Kumar Datt has been impressed by the systems and procedures in place in ONGC Uran Plant. The PESB Member recorded his impressions in the visitor’s book after witnessing the state-of-art operation as well as safety and maintenance of critical equipment and personnel. Mr. Ashwani Datt made his maiden visit of Uran Plant on 27 December 2014.

Mr. Datt evinced intensely inquisitive interest in understanding the manpower allocations and their roles in running a complex Hydrocarbon processing plant. He shared his experience and vision on challenges and need for Manpower Minimization and Optimization of Operations & Maintenance. He emphasized the role and importance of Maintenance, in running a complex process like at Uran Plant. He advocated the vision of Minimization of Human Intervention to Maximize Safety. He also emphasized the infusion of technology as a means to achieve these goals. Mr. Datt spoke about the reduction of costs of Secondary Operations to enhance the competitive edge in the markets.

Mr. Datt showed deep interest in understanding the details of operations and production. GGM – Head Operations Mr. S K Pandey explained the technicalities of processes in detail and answered the queries of Mr. Datt regarding the extraction of Value Added Products from Natural Gas.

Later Mr. Datt visited the field and witnessed the operations first hand. After that he visited the Process Control Room and showed deep interest in various processes and control systems. He also examined the samples of Crude Oil, Naphtha and LPG.

Am impressed by the systems and procedures in place for state-of-art operation as well as safety and maintenance of critical equipment and personnel. I wish Uran facility and all those who work here continued profitable growth through ever enhanced safety and upkeep. May I also take this year-end visit as an opportunity to large ONGC family a very happy new year 2015”. Mr. Datt’s views were well accepted by all as out-of-the-box thoughts.
