ONGC organized yoga camps in majority of its work centers today to mark the first International Yoga Day, envisioned by the Hon'ble Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi and later passed through a resolution by the United Nation.

Responding to the call of the Government, ONGC employees and their family members participated in huge numbers in the camps organized in various work-centers. Yoga camps were organized nationwide by ONGC, wherein CMD, Functional Directors and other senior Executives participated in various Yoga camps along with thousands of ONGCians and their families in the morning to observe the historic day.

ONGC family organized in various places, including Dehradun , Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Ahmedabad , Agartala, Rajahmundry, Greater Noida Yoga camps to celebrate this important day. Let’s have a look at events at various locations.

Greater Noida

The early cloudy morning at the venue was filled with exuberance and energy with the active participation of Director (Offshore) Mr. T.K. Sengupta, OSD (Onshore) Mr V P Mahawar, OSD (Finance) Mr A K Srinivasan, several Key Executives of ONGC, and many ONGCians with their families besides executives of marketing fraternity.

Noida Colony

ONGCians performing Yoga with great enthusiasmONGCians performing Yoga with great enthusiasmIn line with the observance of the first International Yoga Day on 21 June 2015 across the globe, ONGCians at Noida Colony participated in large numbers to celebrate this significant day on the early Sunday morning. With immense exuberance and zeal, ONGCians at Delhi participated in a specially organized Yoga session by RWC-Noida Colony which was attended by senior executives, residents of Noida Colony, family members and children. GM (HR) Head Coordination Mr SSC Parthiban, GM I/c MM Mr U N Jha, GM (HR) Mr N Mani and many other senior executives were present on the occasion.

Dehradun

Yoga Shivir held at DehradunYoga Shivir held at DehradunA Yoga Shivir was observed on the ‘International Day of Yoga’ on 21 June 2015 at ONGC Headquarters, Dehradun. Mr. S.G. Bhargava, GM-HCA, inaugurated the camp by traditional lighting of the lamp. Addressing the gathering he said that Yoga is a way of living for a healthy life.

A large number of ONGCians and their families enthusiastically participated in the Yoga Shivir held at ONGC Community Centre. Yoga asanas like –Anulom Vilom, Kapalbhatti, Pranayam were practiced by the participants under the guidance of Mr. Chauhan. A Yog Sankalp was also taken by all participants.

The atrium was full and yoga experts Mr JK Sahni and Mr Shankar Thakur, who had kindly agreed to conduct the workshop, commenced the session. The high ceiling of Kailash building resonated with the Om chant of the capacity crowd. The placid lake of ink blue, the vibrant colour representing ONGC Videsh, moved in unison. Leading from the front were Director (Finance) Mr SP Garg, Director (Exploration) Dr. Anil Bhandari, Director (Operations) Mr PK Rao and senior officials of ONGC Videsh.

ONGCians and contractual workers participated whole-heartedly by performing various ‘Asanas’ in the Yoga workshop organised on the occassion.

Rajahmundry

Undeterred by the continuous downpour the energy soldiers participated in large numbers.

Kolkata

She had also exhibited few techniques of Pranayama. She also elaborated how the Asanas (Yoga posture) are very much useful to cope with modern life style diseases.

Video Clips of yoga were also run for its better understanding and awareness for participants.

IRS, Ahmedabad

Sharma, launched and event at IRS campus with ONGC’s in-house yoga expert Mr DGM(Res.),IRS Mr. Arunkumar Gupta. A large number of ONGCians and their families enthusiastically participated in the yoga session. Yoga asanas like Anulom Vilom, Kapal Bhatti, Prayanams were practiced by the participants.

Armed with yoga mats, ONGCians and their families trooped to the Durga Pandap at ONGC North Colony for the session of yoga to mark the first International Day of Yoga.
