Mr. K Satyanarayana, OSD (Onshore), tossing the coin before the final league match The XIX Petroleum Sports Promotion Board (PSPB) Inter Unit Kabaddi Tournament which got underway on November 25, 2013 at ONGC Malviya Cricket Ground, ONGC Ahmedabad Asset, ended on a high-note with ONGC Team emerging the champion, beating the Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (BPCL) Team 29 - 17 in an exciting final league match played on November 28, 2013. The two teams displayed some exciting Kabaddi. But despite a tough fight from the BPCL Team, it was the more skilled and experienced ONGC Team, with a number of international players in its ranks, emerging the ultimate winner. Four teams Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (BPCL), Engineers India Ltd. (EIL), Chennai Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (CPCL) & host ONGC participated in the tournament. A number of International Kabaddi Players were also seen in action during the tournament.

The closing match and ceremony was attended by Mr. K Satyanarayana, OSD (Onshore), Mr. J G Chaturvedi, ED-Asset Manager, Ahmedabad Asset, Mr. V K Mahendru, GM-Head Sports, ONGC & Secretary, PSPB, Mr. Vivek Satyajeet, Jt. Secy., PSPB, Mr. Shyam Sunder, Director, SAI, other senior executives of ONGC Ahmedabad and representatives of the Collectives. Mr. Jasvir Singh, ONGC was adjudged the Best All-rounder Player of the Tournament. Mr. Nitin Madane of BPCL and Mr. Jagdeep Singh of ONGC were adjudged the Best Raider and Best Catcher, respectively.

Earlier, the tournament got underway at Ahmedabad on November 25, 2013, creating quite a buzz in the ONGC Campus as well as among the local populace. Mr. J G Chaturvedi, ED-Asset Manager, Ahmedabad Asset, inaugurated the tournament open. In his address, he emphasised that the tournament is seen as a major initiative to boost Kabaddi and promote Kabaddi among youths. He also expressed confidence that more teams would participate in the future tournaments and Kabaddi will get its due recognition in international sports circuit. Thrilling moments from the final match The venue ONGC Malviya Cricket Ground, Ahmedabad witnessed world class Kabaddi during the tournament which was greatly enjoyed by veteran Kabaddi enthusiasts, youngsters and sports buff. Mr. Girish Dhamija, CE (E) & Coordinator Sports, Ahmedabad Asset and Mr. Neer Gulia, Sr. HRE & GC, Kabaddi, thanked all the participating teams, officials, organisers and volunteers for making the tournament a grand success.
