The Chairman and CEO of Energy Maharatna Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), Arun Kumar Singh commands a distinguished career spanning over 37 years in the Oil & Gas industry, both within India and on the global stage. Known for his push for corporate reforms, his astute professional business management skills have brought significant value to every enterprise he has led. Prior to this, he was the CMD of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), an esteemed 'Maharatna' enterprise and Fortune Global 500 Company. Additionally, he chaired Indraprastha Gas Ltd. (IGL), a prominent City Gas Distribution (CGD) Company, and played a pivotal role as a Board Member of Petronet LNG Ltd (PLL), a listed Joint Venture Company. As the President (Africa & Australia), he expanded the global footprints of Bharat Petro Resources Ltd, a wholly-owned overseas exploration subsidiary of BPCL. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the renowned National Institute of Technology, Patna. Under his stewardship, ONGC is taking significant steps to lead the Energy Transition going on in India.

As Director (Human Resources), Manish Patil steers the human capital strategy for the Energy Maharatna, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), overseeing a substantial talent pool of over 26,000+ energy professionals. With a remarkable three-decade career at Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), including roles in Operations & Supplies, Information Systems, and HR Management Services, Patil is a seasoned industry professional. He has held significant positions like Regional HR Head at Indian Oil’s Northern Regional Office, Head of Institutional Business in Southern Region and Executive Director of HR and CSR at Indian Oil’s Corporate Office. His academic pursuits span Mechanical Engineering, Executive MBA, Advanced Diploma in Cyber Laws, and Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resources Management.

As the Director (Technology & Field Services) of ONGC, Mr Vikram Saxena spearheads the Drilling & Well Services campaign of this Maharana Company. In addition to overseeing these field services, he is also responsible for all Technical Services within the organization, as well as ONGC’s Institute of Drilling Technology -a Centre of Excellence in Drilling Technology and School of Maintenance Practices, Vadodara which provides support and training for Field Maintenance Services.

A graduate in Mechanical Engineering with a postgraduate degree in Human Resource Management, Mr. Saxena brings over 35 years of extensive experience in Exploration & Production (E&P) operations across both onshore and offshore domains. Before assuming his current role, he held several key leadership positions within ONGC, demonstrating a profound understanding of operations, maintenance, regulatory frameworks, health, safety & environment and policy matters. A dedicated proponent of continuous learning, Mr. Saxena has been a strong advocate for integrating cutting-edge technology and digitalization to drive growth and sustainability in the energy sector.

O P Sinha assumed charge as the Director (Exploration) of the Energy Maharatna, ONGC, on 14 July 2025. An alumnus of the Indian School of Mines (ISM), Dhanbad, with a Bachelor of Technology in Petroleum Engineering, Mr Sinha has joined the Board with over 37 years of extensive experience in the Exploration & Production (E&P) sector.

Director (Strategy & Corporate Affairs)

As Director (Strategy & Corporate Affairs), Satyan Kumar provides strategic leadership for ONGC’s corporate strategy, business development, joint-venture operations, stakeholder engagement and emerging energy initiatives. With over 36 years of experience across the oil and gas value chain, his career spans upstream operations, engineering, project management, marketing, business development, petrochemicals, corporate strategy and renewable energy. He has played a key role in shaping ONGC’s long-term strategic roadmap, including diversification into petrochemicals, LNG and green energy, and has been associated with initiatives in solar, wind, biofuels and other sustainable energy domains. His leadership assignments include Executive Director – Chief Corporate Strategy, senior roles in Engineering Services, and project leadership for critical infrastructure and business development initiatives such as captive power plants, the Hazira–Dahej naphtha pipeline and ONGC’s first 15 MW utility-scale solar project. An Electrical Engineering graduate from Dayalbagh Educational Institution, Agra, he holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from MDI Gurgaon and has undergone advanced leadership training at ESCP-EAP, France.

As Director (Finance), Anupam Agarwal leads ONGC’s financial strategy and stewardship, supporting sustainable growth, prudent treasury management and long-term value creation. With over 35 years of experience in finance and commercial management in the oil and gas sector, he has served across diverse finance functions at ONGC’s operational and corporate levels. Prior to joining the Board of ONGC, he served as Director (Finance) of ONGC Videsh Limited, where he contributed to strengthening financial performance, governance and treasury practices, including the establishment of ONGC Overseas Investment Limited at GIFT City as the Group’s Global Treasury Centre. His earlier assignments include Executive Director – Chief Corporate Finance at ONGC, overseeing areas such as taxation, investor relations, corporate budgeting, project appraisal and bidding for exploration and production blocks. A Fellow Member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India and an Associate Member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India, he is also a Chartered Financial Analyst from ICFAI, Hyderabad. An alumnus of Lucknow University, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce and a Master of Business Administration in Finance.

Shri Bhaskar Chowdary Nettem is Director (Production), ONGC, and an energy-sector professional with more than three decades of experience across offshore and onshore oil and gas operations, production management, strategic business development, project execution, international upstream operations and joint venture leadership.

A Mechanical Engineer, Shri Nettem joined ONGC in 1991 at Mumbai High Offshore Oilfield. His assignments across ONGC and ONGC Videsh Limited include international exposure in deepwater operations, business development and field development planning. As Asset Manager of Assam Asset, he led efforts to sustain and enhance production from mature fields; he later brought this experience to Mumbai High Asset, focusing on production performance, asset integrity, field redevelopment, project execution and HSE excellence.

He also serves as Chairman of Indradhanush Gas Grid Limited (IGGL), contributing to the development of the 1,656-km North East Gas Grid connecting the eight North-Eastern States with the national gas network.

Shri Nettem holds a Master's degree in International Business. His experience combines operational depth, strategic and commercial perspective, and people-centric leadership in support of ONGC's production and energy-security priorities.

Praveen Mal Kanooja

Praveen Mal Khanooja is currently working as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas. Prior to this assignment, he was Director General, Petroleum Planning & Analysis Cell (PPAC), an attached office of the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas since November 2019.

Mr Khanooja is a B Tech in Chemical Engineering and M Tech in Management & Systems. He belongs to 1994 batch of Indian Audit & Accounts Service (IA&AS) and has worked in various capacities in Defence Audit, Railways Audit, State Government Accounts & Audit at many field and Headquarters’ postings. He has also earlier served as Director (Finance) for the Department of Revenue and Central Board of Excise & Customs; Expert in the State Audit Institution, Sultanate of Oman and Additional DG in the Central Economic Intelligence Bureau.

He has conducted Compliance and Performance Audits of FAO, Rome; WIPO, Geneva, WTO, Spain; GFMD Geneva, and UNITAID Geneva.

He is a very avid reader and has participated in many discussions making considered suggestions on many energy related issues at various forums.

Mr Khanooja does not hold any shares of the Company.

Vinod Seshan

Joint Secretary, MoP&NG, Vinod Seshan is an officer from the 2008 batch of the Indian Administrative Service, Assam Cadre. He possesses over 20 years of rich work experience (17+ years in policymaking, implementation, development and infrastructure project management, district administration, and crisis response in roles as administrator, team leader, and project director).

He has served on the boards of many government companies, the last two assignments being with OIL India and HPCL. Prior to being appointed to the Indian Administrative Service, Mr Seshan had been working in the software services sector in India in roles ranging from software development and testing to knowledge management.

He possesses a bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electronics & Communication) from Visvesvaraya University in Karnataka, India. He also holds a master’s degree in Public Policy as well as Infrastructure, Investment and Finance from University College London.

At work and in pursuit of knowledge, Mr Seshan has consistently demonstrated a strong interest in large infrastructure projects, their financing mechanisms, and their sustainability.

Dr. Archna Thakur holds Doctorate in International Politics from Himachal Pradesh University and is a Gold Medalist in Master's in Political Science. She has over 20 years’ experience in Academics, Management, Administration and Social Services.

Prior to joining the Company, Dr. Thakur served in various roles, namely Principal of the Vocational Training Institute, Department of Technical Education (Polytechnic), Head of the Department of Social Science with a reputed International School, Marketing Director with electronic media houses in Himachal Pradesh, and Consultant with the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), Himachal Pradesh.

Dr. Thakur has been associated with several NGOs and has actively contributed to initiatives focused on women’s empowerment, social awareness, community welfare, and social development.
