Mr. Sudhir Vasudeva, Chairman & Managing Director, ONGC and Chairman, ONGC Group of Companies led from the front in ONGC bagging a brace of awards at the prestigious ‘National Energy Excellence Awards’ in a glittering ceremony held at Mumbai on February 13, 2014. He was conferred with the ‘Outstanding Leadership Award’ by the Asia Oil & Gas Congress. At the same time ONGC was presented the coveted award of the ‘Best Employer Brand Organization in Asia Oil & Gas Sector’.

The awards for ‘Outstanding Leadership Award’ and ‘Best Employer Brand Organization’ in Oil & Gas Sector’ were received by Dr. R V Marathe, Executive Director, AM-Mumbai High Asset, Mumbai, on behalf of Mr. Vasudeva, who could not be present due to pressing assignments.

While addressing the gathering, Mr. Marathe shared that the award followed due to Mr. Vasudeva’s dynamic leadership in pursuit of becoming an integrated energy provider through production from small & marginal fields, downstream value additions & forward integration, new discoveries and fast track development, sourcing equity oil from abroad, leveraging state-of-the-art technology & global best practices, new sources of energy, structural initiatives to tap non-conventional energy sources, etc.

It has been under Mr Vasudeva’s stewardship that the entire organization is unifying to implement Perspective Plan 2030 as a road map of growth over the next two decades wherein it aims to double ONGC production to a rate of 4 to 5 % against the present 2% growth rate, he added.

ONGC represents India’s Energy Security through its pioneering efforts and is fully integrated Petroleum Company in India operating along the entire hydrocarbon value chain, single-handedly scripting India’s hydrocarbon saga, he added.
