ओएनजीसी के सीएमडी सुधीर वासुदेव ने संस्थान के निदेशक मंडल के प्रतिष्ठित फैलोशिप को सम्मानित किया
The Institute of Directors has conferred its Distinguished Fellowship for 2012 to Mr. Sudhir Vasudeva, ONGC CMD and Chairman, ONGC Group of Companies. The coveted Fellowship was conferred on Mr. Vasudeva for his admirable steering of the ONGC Board and Boards of other ONGC Group of Companies with the highest standards of Corporate Governance.
The Fellowship was awarded by the Union Minister of Corporate Affairs and Power Hon'ble Dr. M Veerappa Moily at Delhi on 17th August 2012, during the 23rd Annual Day of the Institute. Former Chief Justice of India Justice P N Bhagwati, was also present on the occasion. Established in 1990, the Institute Of Directors (IOD) is an apex association of Directors, mandated to augment the professional standards of corporate Boards.
Accepting the Fellowship, Mr. Vasudeva said, "I humbly receive this honour as a recognition of ONGC's unique value system, of its people and of its leadership". With this Fellowship, Mr. Vasudeva joins a distinguished club of eminent personalities like Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, Mr Kapil Sibal, Mr. TKA Nair, Mr. Pankaj Munjal, Ms. Kiran Bedi and Mr. N Vittal.
Mr. Sudhir Vasudeva, a Gold Medalist Chemical Engineer with Advanced Diploma in Management, is a firm believer in transparency and ethical business practices. Mr. Vasudeva is the President of Global Compact Network, India. He also happens to be the first business leader from Indian PSUs to become a Member of the Board of the Global Compact, the United Nation's highest-level advisory body involving business, civil society, labour and employers organizations.
Under the able stewardship of Mr Vasudeva, ONGC has not only become the highest-ever Profit-making and highest-ever Dividend paying company of the country, it also often retains the Numero Uno position in the Market in terms of Market Capitalization. A distinguished technocrat, Mr. Vasudeva has earlier received coveted CEPM-PMA Fellowship on Project Management for his many path-breaking initiatives in complex offshore project management.
