ओएनजीसी ने ताजमहल को बचाने के लिए एएसआई और पर्यटन मंत्रालय के साथ समझौता ज्ञापन करार दिया

As a part of its structured CSR initiatives, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd (ONGC) signed a tripartite MoU with the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) and Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. The MoU was signed today in the Red Fort premises, New Delhi to conserve the iconic historical monument of India Taj Mahal, under the Clean India Campaign christened as स्वच्छ स्मारक, स्वच्छ भारत.

The Clean India Campaign is an initiative of the Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with the Archaeological Society of India (ASI) and is aimed at restoration, preservation, beautification and general cleanliness in and around the famous monuments in India. To begin with, ONGC will invest Rs 20.75 Crores for the conservation of the Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the world. The objective is also to ensure increased tourist inflow to the country, improve the quality of services and provide a hygienic environment in and around the tourist destinations across the country.

The MoU was signed by Mr. Alok Mishra, ED-Chief CSR, ONGC, Mr. Rakesh Tiwari, Director General (ASI) and Mr. R K Bhatnagar, Additional DG (Tourism), in the presence of Mr. Shripad Yesso Naik, Hon'ble Minister of State for Tourism (Independent Charge), Mr. Desh Deepak Misra, Director(HR), ONGC and other dignitaries from ONGC, Ministry of Tourism and ASI.

Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Naik applauded ONGC for this noble endeavour of extending the entire financial support to ASI for comprehensive maintenance and conservation of Taj Mahal. The MoU reflects the Maharatna's commitment to maintain and preserve the rich culture and heritage of India.
