The pavilion was inaugurated by DG-DGH B.N Talukdar in the presence of Director (Exploration), ONGC A.K Dwivedi(left) on 9 June 2015 at 1030 hrs.The time is now to Reimagine, Reinvent and Reposition the ‘Barrels of Knowledge’. This was the theme of Global Petroleum Show (GPS) 2015 and it was extraordinary that in the times of low oil prices, over 50,000 attendees had come together at GPS 2015 to reimagine numerous possibilities in the industry. Across the entire supply chain of over 20,000 unique companies from 100 countries participated in GPS 2015. Interestingly, the show is held every year and considered to be one of the largest oil and gas events on the Planet.
This is for the first time that Indian Hydrocarbon Industry made a remarkable presence in Global Petroleum Show 2015 at Calgary from 9-11 June 2015 through a pavilion titled “India Hydrocarbon Pavilion’.
The exquisite pavilion was set up at a very short notice by the Country Office of ONGC Videsh Ltd under the professional guidance and supervision of corporate communications office of ONGC, New Delhi. The Pavilion was duly represented by ONGC, IOC,OIL, EIL,GAIL, HPCL, BPCL and DGH showcasing their strengths through well-conceived posters panels and video documentaries.
The showcase of the opportunities in the Indian hydrocarbon industrySome eminent professionals like Mr. Hemanta Sarma, an ex-ONGCian and now a Professor in Petroleum Department in University of Calgary, visited the pavilion and shared nostalgia.
During the show, DG, DGH spearheaded the regulator’s meet and Director (E), ONGC attended several meetings with professionals involved with Seismic and drilling industry. During his meeting with officials of Arcis Seismic Solution at the pavilion on 10 June 2015, he expressed his intention to develop core competencies in ONGC for some specialised fields of Seismic data processing and to his response, the company overwhelmingly assured him with all assistance.
The energy professionals of Indian Hydrocarbon IndustryDuring the show, over 300 professionals from various segments visited the pavilion and quite a good number of visitors took keen interest in getting appraised with status, latest trend in oil industry and opportunities in India. Some visiting NRIs showed their interest how they can contribute to ‘Make in India’ and promised to stay in touch with local office of ONGC Videsh at Calgary. Besides professionals, there were several group of students from various departments like Petroleum, Geology and Geophysics from the University of Calgary who brought lot of exuberance and cheers to the pavilion. Calgary office of ONGC Videsh led by Rohit Sinha, Country Manager, in associating with Corporate Communications ONGC successfully handled this short notice prestigious assignment on a tight schedule.
