जूनियर हॉकी विश्व चैंपियनशिप 2016 में 5 ओएनजीसीयनों द्वारा सराहनीय प्रदर्शन
Indian Junior Hockey Team played outstanding Hockey to lift the FIH Junior World Cup,</strong> held at Lucknow during 8 – 18 December 2016, after a giant gap of 15 years. In this winning team, five ONGC scholarship players have participated and played a key role in getting Gold Medal and brought the laurels for country as well as ONGC..
These five players are Gurjant Singh, Mandeep Singh, Simranjit Singh, Vikramjit Singh and Sumit. All the scholarship players are more then 2 years with ONGC and ONGC has nurtured them as Champions and provided every possible facility like equipment, technical and tactical training and motivation under the able guidance of GC- Anurag Raguvanshi and Coach Sandeep Sangwan, which could enhance their performance as per the modern requirements of hockey.
DD Misra,Director HR, met these youngsters and congratulated them for this grand victory and blessed for their future. He motivated them and assured them of providing the best facilities from ONGC. Pradeep Singh, Head Corporate Sports also congratulated the young Champions.

The final match of FIH Junior World cup was played between India and Belgium at Lucknow on 18 December 2016, in which India outclassed Belgium by beating them 2-1 in regulation time and moreover our ONGC players namely Gurjant Singh and Simranjit Singh scored the two field goals. Gurjant Singh got the man of the match award in the finals by displaying exceptional skills.
