In the evening shift of October 29, 2009, there was a fire incident at POL terminal of Indian Oil Corporation’s at Sanganer in Jaipur. The fire left 11 persons dead and about 100 injured and impact of explosion was upto 3 KM.

Incident was inquired by M B Lal committee and there were 113 recommendations which are applicable to oil industry. Based on M B Lal committee recommendations, OISD STD 116 and 117 are revised in the year Oct’2010 and these are to be implemented in a time bound manner as mentioned in these standards.
