The Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, dedicated the Sea Survival Centre to the nation on 6 February 2024 at the ONGC Advanced Training Institute in Goa. This significant milestone marks a leap forward in India's maritime safety infrastructure, as the ONGC Sea Survival Centre emerges as a pioneering institution aimed at advancing the nation's sea survival training ecosystem to global standards.
The momentous event also saw in attendance the Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri, and the Minister of State of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Labour and Employment Rameswar Teli, the Hon’ble Governor of Goa P. S. Sreedharan Pillai, and the Chief Minister of Goa Dr. Pramod Sawant, among others. The Centre was dedicated to the nation before the inauguration of the second edition of the India Energy Week.

The Prime Minister additionally presented a video underscoring the necessity for a contemporary Sea Survival Centre, emphasizing, “Here is why we needed a modern Sea Survival Centre and how it will be very beneficial for our nation.”
