Storming into the quarter-finals, the Indian men’s hockey team clinched a comprehensive 3-1 victory against the defending champions Argentina in the Tokyo Olympics 2020. The Indian squad has displayed outstanding sportsmanship in this year’s summer Olympics, having defeated New Zealand and Spain earlier. In its penultimate pool match against Argentina, India scored two goals in the last two minutes, securing its berth in the quarter-finals, being second in Pool A, just after Australia. This year, three ONGCians are part of the Indian men’s hockey squad – Mandeep Singh, Gurjant Singh and Sumit Kumar. All the three ace players have already clinched several accolades to their name.
