The lanky fast bowler's record seven-wicket haul gives India a memorable win at Lord's

ONGCian Ishant Sharma tormented the English batting line up by delivering fiery short-pitched stuff, powering Team India to a famous test victory – their first overseas success in three years. Using the short ball to perfection, Ishant took five of the six wickets to fall on the final day of second Test, returning a career-best 7 for 74 to dismiss England for 223. He was adjudged the man-of-the-match for his devastating performance. The man-of-the-match winning spell was also the best-ever by an Indian bowler in England, eclipsing a 78-year record of 6/35 by the late Amar Singh in 1936. With this victory, India conquered Lord's after 28 long years when Indian team led by Kapil Dev won a test for the first time in Lord's in the year 1986. The match winning spell by Ishant caps a fine year for him adding to his two six-wicket innings hauls in Auckland and Wellington.
