ओएनजीसी टीम ने पीएसपीबी ब्रिज टूर्नामेंट 2021-22 में ख्याति अर्जित की
ONGC Bridge Team won 5 out of 6 trophies at 41st PSPB Inter Unit Bridge Tournament, while one trophy was won by IOCL. The event was organized at Acer’s Club Chembur, Mumbai, by BPCL from 7 to 11 March 2022. More than 246 deals were played in gruelling five days and endurance was tested daily morning 9.00 AM to evening 7.00 PM.
Bridge is regarded as most strenuous game as players’ endurance, concentration, skills are tested through long playing hours. This contest was also played by players of international fame who have represented India in international events.
ONGC Bridge Team with Trophies
ONGC Teams were both winners and runners up in Board-A-Match event. Both teams were at tie and decision was done through tie breaker. Again in Pairs event, ONGC was both winner and runners up. In the Duplicate event IOCL was declared winner whereas ONGC was runners up. However, in the league match of Duplicate event, ONGC was at the top of the table.

ONGC spearheaded the contest through their brilliant players who won trophies - ED Namit Sharma, GGM (P) Rajesh Tiwary, CGM (P) S C Sarkar, CGM (P) Alok Kumar, GM (C&M) Rajkamal Gupta, GM(P) Harish B Krishna, GM (P) Sanjeev Aggarwal, GM (MM) Haresh Karamchandani, GM (P) S R Chowdhury, GM(P) Mrityunjay Dey, GM (P) P K Padhy and Mgr.(HR) P K Pramanik. Few debutants also got opportunity to participate and sharpen their skills. It was an opportunity for ONGC to re-establish its supremacy and ONGC Bridge Team earned valuable points for Petroleum Minister’s Trophy.
ED Namit Sharma and CGM (P) Alok Kumar were declared best pair on the basis of highest points accumulated in all events.

In India, there are around 40 sponsored professional teams, ONGC’s performance is exceptional as all players hold very responsible positions and they play Bridge as hobby.

In the prize distribution ceremony, “Hip-Hip Hurray for ONGC” echoed the hall. The aura of players and cheers on faces were scribing that like other fields, in the Brain Games also, ONGC is the best.
