In line with the कौशल भारत – कुशल भारत Skill Development Mission of India Campaign, ONGC’s HSE Institute IPSHEM has undertaken a unique step in organizing Online Winter Training for B. Tech (Petroleum) and B. Tech (Chemical) students of Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy (IIPE) Vishakhapatnam on the Topic “HSE Management in Petroleum Industry”. The one-month training for around 150 students of pre-final and final year Petroleum and Chemical Engineering has been inaugurated by Director (Onshore) Anurag Sharma on 14 December 2021.

The inaugural session of the online winter training was graced by the presence of Director (Onshore) Anurag Sharma, Head IPSHEM Sanjeev Singhal and Advisor IIPE Vizag Mohinder Singh and was participated by engineering students of IIPE.
Director (Onshore) Anurag Sharma highlighted that the training is important for the students, especially while they are in the final years of their graduation, to decide what professional career is best for them. Mr. Sharma motivated the budding engineers by sharing his experience of interacting with the start-ups emanating from the state of Andhra Pradesh. He appreciated the analytical and entrepreneurial abilities of the start-ups and urged the students of IIPE to develop such traits in them.
Director (Onshore) delivering the keynote address
Head IPSHEM Sanjeev Singhal stated that the Institute of Petroleum Safety, Health and Environment Management (IPSHEM) has designed the training module in a unique manner so that the students stay prepared on the HSE technicalities before joining the petroleum industry.
Advisor IIPE Vizag Mohinder Singh mentioned about the synchronous efforts of both the Institutes towards securing the energy for the nation. He also highlighted that HSE Training Programme for Petroleum Industry is immensely popular among the future professionals and IIPE looks forward to the wonderfully designed programme on HSE for its students, even before they set out for the careers in the industry, and that too, from the unique Institute like IPSHEM.
Petroleum Engineering student extending the expression of gratitude
Final year student of Petroleum Engineering from IIPE Bhavya Kumari delivered an expression of gratitude towards ONGC IPSHEM for organizing the training. She hoped the winter internship will be a productive learning journey for her and the participating students. Delivering the Vote of Thanks, CGM-Head Training and Environment Nikhil N. Ray asserted that the both the students of IIPE and executives at IPSHEM will be benefited from the month-long internship program.
