The PRCI Chanakya Awards are presented to individuals, corporates and institutions in the Public Relations sector to recognize their professional standards. The jury for the coveted awards consists of eminent personalities from among the professionals in the corporate sector, mass communications and media. The Chanakya Awards are conferred in various categories.
The award to ONGC comes in the backdrop of it’s Corporate Communications’ inspirational leadership in image and reputation building, which most PSUs look upon for guidance. Building a positive reputation for the organizations, whose businesses have to inherently deal with traditionally sensitive public perceptions, is always considered one of the toughest PR challenges. One of the key success indicators of Upstream petroleum (Exploration & Production) industry is reputation. ONGC – as the leading E&P major in India – has harnessed this reputation factor successfully, especially in the recent past, when faced with various challenges like the pandemic. The Energy Maharatna’s oil and gas exploration and production activities have been globally appreciated and its records of CSR, safety and environmental management have been recognized.
