Speaking on the occasion, Mr Thakur defined yoga as a dance of every cell of the body with the music of every breath. He said that the fact that yoga is being celebrated around the globe on this day speaks volumes about the importance of this practice. He also expressed gratitude to ONGC Management for giving him the opportunity to conduct the yoga session.
Mr Thakur, along with his colleague PK Raghav, then demonstrated how to perform various ‘asanas’ in proper alignment. The yoga session started with chants of ‘Om’. Mr Thakur highlighted that the hymn should come from the heart center and not the throat. He also noted that the axis of the spine should be vertical to the ground while sitting to perform yoga.

Several ‘asanas’ including Tiryaka Tadasana, Kati Chakrasana, Katasana, Shashankasana, Bhujangasana, Shavasana, etc were demonstrated and explained during the session by Mr Raghav and Mr Thakur respectively.
