In order to recognize the excellent performance and professional commitment rendered in discharging their role and responsibilities, the President of India has approved Fire Service Medal for Meritorious Service to Chief Fireman of ONGC’s Mehsana Asset Dansingh Madavsingh Chaudhary on the occasion of Republic Day 2021.

The Fire Service Medal is conferred to the members of Fire Service in consideration of their distinguished or meritorious service and outstanding devotion to duty.

Chief Fireman Dansingh Chaudhary has been working in Mehsana Asset of ONGC for over 32 years. Born on 25 July 1963 in Kunwali village at Rudraprayag District of (Uttarakhand), Mr Dansingh, after completing his school examination, joined ONGC Fire Services at Mehsana on 20 April 1988 as a Fireman Grade – III. Since then, he has served in various capacities in all the operational areas of Mehsana Asset and is currently performing Shift In-charge duty in the rank of Chief Fireman at Sobhasan Fire Station of Mehsana Asset.

During his career in the ONGC, Mr Dansingh has always remained committed to his duties in the Fire Services, be it fire fighting, fire prevention or maintenance of fire fighting equipment. He has always shown his professional capabilities while attending various major fire emergencies not only in ONGC but outside also. His notable contributions have been the control of Blow out at Balol# 45 in Balol field in November 2008, NK#59 in North Kadi field in 1994, Zalora in 1995, Nada #1 of Ankleshwar Asset in 1988, Major Fire at ONGC Mehsana CTF Oil Tank in 1997, State Fire in Mehsana income tax office in 1993, rescue of two persons from well at Vadnagar Mehsana in 1990. During his career in ONGC, he has accepted many such challenges which have helped ONGC Fire Services to earn appreciation in and around Mehsana.

He has always volunteered for professional training programmes to sharpen his professional skills and undergone various training courses at IPSHEM Goa to upgrade his professional knowledge and competency. He has successfully completed Sub Officer's Course from NFSC Nagpur in the year 2002. In addition to the professional knowledge, he is excellent in sport activity. He is National Level Shooting Volleyball player. He has played National Shooting Volleyball tournaments 10 times as a representative from Gujrat State during the period 1990 to 1998.

Mr Dansingh has also contributed significantly to the fire safety of the operational areas of his work center during his assignment to carry out various fire prevention jobs like maintenance of fire equipment installed at various installations of Mehsana Asset, attending to stand-by duties for various jobs like HOC, welding-cutting jobs, CTU, etc. and imparting first aid fire fighting training to field personnel. His job profile is enriched with a wide range of activities including Maintenance of Fixed Fire Fighting System, Portable Fire Fighting Equipment & Appliances, attending to stand-by duties etc. He has also made valuable contribution for achieving Mehsana Central Fire Station as the “Best Main Fire Station” seven times since the inception of award in 2007.

Mr Dansingh is a very sincere and hardworking fire service professional whose services have always been dedicated to the cause of fire safety and fire prevention. He is a self-motivated person whose determination to ensure fire safety in all aspects of operational areas assigned to him is highly commendable.
