कार्यकारी समिति ने असम के मुख्य सचिव के साथ ओएनजीसी की गतिविधियों पर चर्चा की
Assam Chief Secretary Jishnu Barua, IAS, on 13 July 2022 held a meeting with the ONGC CMD and Directors in New Delhi.
During the discussion, Mr Barua evinced keen interest in ONGC employees working in Assam. He remembered some ONGC officers by name, a few of who were his batchmates at the University of Delhi. “ONGC has not only brought oil to Assam, but also easy money to the people here. Instead of militants, it is the local students’ associations that are gaining power in Assam now,” he said.
Mr Barua also spoke about the traditional social-cultural customs of Upper Assam. His knowledge of the origins of the ONGC campus in Nazira was praiseworthy. He enquired about the details of ONGC activities, especially near the Assam-Nagaland disputed border area belt (DAB). The Chief Secretary also enquired about ONGC’s drilling in Nagaland. Director (Exploration) responded to him with specifications about those areas under drilling.

CMD informed the Chief Secretary about the details of those employees.
She informed the Assam Chief Secretary that Hon’ble Prime Minister is slated to inaugurate the second phase of ONGC Multi-Speciality Hospital in Sivasagar.
Amid the discussions, Director (Onshore) also shared the production figures of ONGC in Assam.
