पेट्रोलियम मंत्री ने ओएनजीसी आईपीएसएचईएम गोवा में भारत ऊर्जा सप्ताह 2024 की तैयारियों की समीक्षा की
Hon’ble Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri reviewed the preparations underway for India Energy Week 2024 at ONGC IPSHEM Goa on 22 July 2023. Hon’ble Minister, who was in Goa for the G20 Energy Ministerial Meet, spend around two hours at the ONGC Institute in south Goa, along with Petroleum Secretary Pankaj Jain.
While reviewing the preparations, Hon’ble Minister opined that India Energy Week (IEW) 2024 should make a strong statement about India’s commitment to carbon neutrality. “This IEW is an opportunity for the Energy Industry to not only showcase our deep commitment to sustainability but also to add value to the local economy and engage with the local populace.”

Engineers India Limited Chairperson Vartika Shukla and DG FIPI Gurmeet Singh, along with senior officials of ONGC Group viz. MD ONGC Videsh Rajarshi Gupta and Director (T&FS) Om Prakash Singh, also participated in this review. IPSHEM Head Sanjeev Singhal and Chief HSE Ajay Dixit were also there in the review, along with senior fire officer of IPSHEM Puneet Khanna. Hon’ble Minister made a threadbare review of the preparedness, both for the India Energy Week, scheduled to be held during 6-9 February 2024, and the permanent facilities coming up at the ONGC Institute before the global event.
For overcoming the logistics challenges, Mr Puri suggested to take stock of the available hotels in Goa for a comfortable stay of the delegates and participants. For effective coordination of the event, Mr Puri further instructed Federation of Indian Petroleum Industry (FIPI) and the Ministry officials to involve related stakeholders such as the Indian Navy, Coast Guard, Meteorological Department, and the local government.

The organisers were also instructed to frame timelines for various infrastructure works and establishment of world class training facility, along with the preparations of IEW 2024. As part of minimising the carbon footprints, Hon’ble Minister advised to keep out fossil-fuel vehicles, and use e-vehicles for commuting by participants and the delegates.
As the mega event is going to attract large number of global companies and CEOs, B2B discussion cubicles are expected to be made sufficiently available at the venue. For executing the event further smoothly, Mr Puri asked that the lessons learnt from IEW-2023 Bengaluru for designing the event should be followed this time.
