In recognition of its efforts to enhance procurement through Government e-Marketplace (GeM), Energy Maharatna ONGC has been conferred with GeM Top Buyer Award. The award was conferred virtually at the 5th edition of National Public Procurement Conclave organized by GeM in collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) on 9 – 10 August 2021. The energy major was awarded for carrying out the second highest procurement worth Rs 440.60 crores through GeM portal among CPSEs during Financial Year 2020-21.

The conclave, organized on the theme ‘Technology enabled Government Procurement – Towards Efficiency, Transparency, and Inclusiveness’, was inaugurated virtually by Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Anupriya Patel in the presence of Commerce Secretary BVR Subrahmanyam and GeM CEO PK Singh.

ONGC CMD Subhash Kumar congratulated the entire ONGC team on the occasion and emphasized that GeM is a great system of procurement, which is not only transparent but also gives speed of execution. Mr Kumar advised that ONGC must use the portal and help in increasing its functionality.

Director (T&FS) and Director in-charge MM OP Singh also congratulated all stakeholders for the recognition. Mr Singh advised all to continue the good work so that target procurement through GeM can be achieved during the current fiscal and so that our organization emerges as top ranked buyer next year.

This achievement was made possible thanks to the sincere efforts from all concerned stakeholders across all work centers with the support of GeM implementation team, led by CGM (MM) – Head Corp VMC Nikhil Gaur and Sr MM Officer - Corp VMC Mohd Salimuddin, under the able guidance and leadership of ED - Chief MM Services AP Tripathi.
