ONGC CMD Mr RK Srivastava participated in the CEOs Roundtable conference on the sidelines of the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC) 2022 in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on 30 October. As many as 25 CEOs of global petroleum companies attended the event.
CMD Mr Srivastava attended the CEOs Roundtable on a special invitation of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber.
Top CEOs of oil and gas majors attended the high-level meeting which was organized in these times. They discussed ways to chart the energy security roadmap of the world.
The meeting of Who’s Who of global petroleum industry discussed ways to come out of the Trilemma of Energy Security, Access and Sustainability.
Addressing the Roundtable, CMD said, “We know that oil and gas are going to be there as permanent sources of energy supply, especially for a country like India.”
Highlighting the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi with regards to India’s goal of achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2047, CMD Mr Srivastava said that India’s energy transition is going to be a long-run event. “When our PM stressed the targets of net zero, he indicated that this transition is not going to be a club kind of event. It is going to be a long-run process. All those energy sources will be supplementary as far as the energy scenario in India is concerned.”
He further said, “We also know that the E&P industry has always been riding on the evolution of technological processes and innovations. This is an industry which has been imbibing on a much faster pace.”
The CEOs Roundtable conference was moderated by Dr. Daniel Yergin, Vice Chairperson of S&P Global and a noted energy expert.
