On day 2 of Swachhta Pakhwada 2021, projects for providing essentials towards COVID-19 relief were launched / inaugurated across ONGC work centers. A total of 22 projects worth Rs 47.03 lakhs were launched / inaugurated, benefitting 17,060 persons across the country. The emphasis of the day’s events was on providing support to secondary workforce, local communities and healthcare professionals through distribution of masks, sanitizers, COVID-19 hygiene essentials. SMS awareness activity, online competition, inauguration of project for drinking water facility, street play and sanitization drive were also undertaken today.
Distribution of masks, sanitizers, face shields and other hygiene essentials
To contain the spread of coronavirus in operational areas, masks, sanitizers, hand soaps and hand gloves were distributed in Jorhat, New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Rajahmundry, Tripura, Hazira, Goa, Assam, Silchar, Dehradun, Mehsana, Bokaro, Jodhpur, Kakinada and Vadodara.
The project for distribution of 3,500 COVID Hygiene Kits to frontline corona warriors, healthcare workers, MCGM contractual Safai Karmachari and sanitation workers, police stations in Bandra West and East, vendors in municipal markets, auto and taxi drivers and general population at different locations of Mumbai was launched today. Project for distribution of 2,000 COVID Hygiene Kits to secondary workforce was also launched in Rajahmundry. In Dehradun, drive for distribution of 1,500 Hygiene Kits to secondary workforce was also launched.
At the Coolie Camp Slum area in Vasant Kunj, New Delhi, around 1,000 slum dwellers were provided with Hygiene Kits containing N-95 masks, hand sanitizer and hand soap.
In Jorhat, to spread the message of Swachhta and reducing use of single-use plastic, 600 jute bags were distributed to secondary work force. The bags contained hygiene essentials like N-95 masks and sanitizer to contain spread of COVID-19. 150 Hygiene Kits were also distributed to secondary workforce at different locations in Kolkata and to secondary workforce at ONGC colony in Rajahmundry. In CBM Asset, Bokaro, 180 COVID Hygiene Kits were distributed to secondary work force observing all COVID protocols during the distribution. 200 masks and sanitizers were distributed in Mehsana Asset as well for the secondary workforce. Further, 47 Hygiene kits were distributed to housekeeping staff in Tripura Asset, Agartala and project for distribution of 1,000 N-95 masks to contractual employees in Hazira was launched today.
The project for distribution of 2,000 hygiene kits to villagers and street vendors was flagged off today at Vadodara by distributing 50 hygiene kits to street vendors. At Goa, 450 Hygiene Kits have been distributed to secondary workforce and locals villagers of Betul Village containing hand sanitizer, liquid hand wash and N-95 masks. In Jodhpur and Jaisalmer, 1000 masks, 400 sanitizers and 100 soaps were distributed to general public. 800 reusable facemasks were also distributed to contractual workforce in Cambay Asset premises today.
Through these interventions 37,574 masks, 35,500 hand gloves, 10,052 hand sanitizers, 5552 soaps, 600 jute bags were distributed.
Inauguration of projects for COVID-19 relief at Kakinada
As part of the Swachhta Activities on second day of the Swachhta Pakhwada, EOA, Kakinada inaugurated the project for providing Mahindra Bolero Vehicle for use in mobilizing blood donation camps across East Godavari District. The event was launched in the presence of Kakinada MP and District Magistrate, East Godavari District. During this event, 18,000 surgical hand gloves were handed over to Government General Hospital, Kakinada.
Inauguration of Drinking Water Facility
Project for drinking water facility at Meteka Lower Primary School, Sivsagar and Gelakey College, Sivasagar was inaugurated today as part of Swachhta Pakhwada initiatives. These facilities will benefit over 450 students of these institutes.
Online Competitions
167 students of Cauvery Public School, Karaikal enthusiastically participated in essay writing, drawing and poster making competitions held online on the topic of Swachhta.
Awareness Message on Say no to Plastic - SMS Campaign
Four SMS Awareness messages on ‘Say no to Plastic’ were sent to 500 employees of Cauvery Basin in Chennai, generating awareness on reducing use of single-use plastic.
Sanitization Drive
A sanitization drive was undertaken at Gandhar Village in Ankleswar, Gujarat benefitting 2500 residents of the villages. All prominent locations like the Panchayat Office, 2 Anganwadis, Primary School and other public placed were sanitized today.
Street Play for Swachhta Awareness
To spread the Swachhta Awareness message, street play was organized through 10 members of an NGO for 1,000 slum dwellers of Coolie Camp, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi.
Corporate Visual on Internal Portal
Corporate Visual on the Revival of the Ancient River Saraswati through ‘Project Saraswati’ was also hosted on internal portal for all employees to create awareness on the Swachhta Initiatives undertaken by ONGC.
ONGC has also shared its Swachhta initiatives on its social media handles on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn to create awareness on the importance of cleanliness and hygiene, especially during these times.
