The three-day ONGC Para Games 2018-19 concluded on 15 March 2019 at the Thyagraj Stadium, New Delhi. The events in Athletics, Badminton and Table Tennis were closely contested by around 150 PWD (Persons with Disabilities) employees of ONGC. Gold, Silver and Bronze medals were given to the winners in each of the events (over fifty). ONGC is the only public enterprise in India to organize such Para Games.
ONGC Director (Finance) Mr. Subhash Kumar and ONGC Director (HR) Dr Alka Mittal were there at the event to cheer the participants and distribute the medals on the concluding day.

We wish they show the same zeal and sportsmanship in the office as well. The Games are an inspiration and lesson for all of us.” He further added that we are glad to see that the participation was not inclined towards winning or losing. He complimented all the participants for participating.
Director (HR) Dr Alka Mittal, while addressing the audience said, “I am very happy to see such enthusiasm in the participants. The increase in number of participants in this year’s Games is very motivating. We wish to see the participation increased to 80% of the PWD employees at ONGC in the next year’s games.”
While cheering the participants, Director HR Dr Alka Mittal said that in the next ONGC Para Games, all efforts will be made to augment the participation to 80 per cent of the PWD employees of ONGC, from the current level of around 50 per cent. Director Finance Mr Subhash Kumar said that the level of enthusiasm in the participants is praiseworthy and the passion behind them to compete is worthy of emulation.
Over 150 PWD employees, which is around 50 per cent of the total PWD employees at various locations of ONGC, participated in the event this year.
The ONGC Para Games, which is now an annual event in ONGC, has been organized following the international format issued by the Paralympic Committee of India (PCI). Some Kargil War heroes, who are now employees of ONGC, also participated in the Para Games.
