India’s Integrated Energy Company, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation celebrated its 63rd Anniversary today across all regions and work centers in the country. The Maharatna has played a major role in shaping India’s energy scape for over six decades of its existence, discovering six of the seven producing basins in the country, in addition to leading India’s quest for energy sufficiency.
Speaking on the occasion, CMD ONGC, Mr. Shashi Shanker said, “In the last 63 years, ONGC has scripted India’s hydrocarbon saga and has put India into the World Oil Map. We have drawn a strategic plan to enhance oil and gas production from our domestic and overseas assets so that the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of 10% reduction in oil import by 2022 is materialized.”
At ONGC Corporate Office Deendayal Urja Bhawan, New Delhi, the ONGC Flag was hoisted in the presence of employees, followed by a two minute silence to honor ONGCians who laid down their lives in the line of duty. The ONGC pledge was taken solemnly by all employees, following which activities such as painting, photo booth, and jigsaw puzzles were organized to build team spirit among employees.
ONGC Mumbai celebrated 63rd ‘ONGC Day’ by saluting ONGCians who work indefatigably to take the organization to newer heights. Key Executives paid homage to martyrs by laying a wreath at the memorial in Vasudhara Bhawan. At NBP Green Heights, ONGC Flag was unfurled on this occasion by ED-Asset Manager, N&H Asset, Alok Nandan. This was followed by the ONGC Pledge, which was taken by a large number of ONGCians and superannuated employees.
In Ahmedabad, ONGC Day was heralded with the launch of five major CSR initiatives, ranging from water ATMs to distribution of 1000 sensory units to Divyangs. Over 3000 people in the region will be benefitted through these initiatives.
Employees at other work centers of ONGC across the country like Cauvery Asset, Kakinada, Sibsagar(Assam), Agartala (Tripura), Ahmedabad, Ankleshwar, Mehsana etc. also pledged to contribute their best for National Energy Independence.
