A meeting was held today by Petroleum Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan to review the preparations for the launch of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan on 2nd October, 2014. After detailed deliberations on the programmes being taken by the oil & gas CPSEs as well by the Power PSUs in Odisha, the Minister directed that all employees of the Ministry, the attached offices and PSUs should actively participate in the Mission Swachh Bharat. The programmes organized by the PSUs in their areas of operation, installations, refineries, all 50,000 retail outlets etc. should start with SwachhtaShapath to be administered on 2nd October, 2014.

Construction of toilets in the schools to be started on 2nd October, 2014 by all the PSUs under the SwachhVidyalayaAbhiyan all over the country, should be inaugurated by CMDs/MDs of oil & gas PSUs. The function should not be ostentatious and include a small ceremony with offering flowers to Gandhiji’s photograph. The banner should cover logo of the Swachh Bharat.

The Minister said MahilaMandals in the residential complexes of the oil & gas PSUs should be involved in the campaign.
