ONGCian and International cricketing star Ishant Sharma has created history at Motera stadium Ahmedabad on 24 February 2020, as he became the only 2nd Indian pacer after legendary Kapil Dev to play 100 Tests. With this rare achievement, Ishant has joined James Anderson and Stuart Broad in the list of current pacers with 100 or more Tests.

It has been a fascinating journey for Ishant Sharma as he has picked up 302 wickets from 99 Tests at an average of 32.22. Ishant was fast-tracked into the senior Test side when he was a teenager. Success followed him instantly as he came up with some memorable spells, including the dream spells to Ricky Ponting and Co. in Sydney and Perth on his maiden trip to Australia. Ishant picked up 38 wickets in only his 2nd year in international cricket and earned a fine reputation early in his career.

Earlier in August 2020, Ishant was conferred the prestigious Arjuna Awards for his impressive performance throughout his career. His performances outside India have been phenomenal. He is regarded as vital cog in the Indian Test Line up. Interestingly, Ishant Sharma is married to International basketball player Pratima Singh.
