ONGC at India Energy Week 2024: Leading India's Energy Transition
Nestled amidst the bustling energy hub of India Energy Week 2024 in Goa, the ONGC Pavilion emerged as a symbol of innovation and unwavering dedication. A beacon of India's commitment to sustainable energy and environmental stewardship, the pavilion stood as a magnetic hub, attracting visitors from all corners of the globe eager to witness the forefront of energy transition.
Esteemed dignitaries including Hon’ble Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, and Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri, Secretary of Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Pankaj Jain, IAS, and former G20 Sherpa, Amitabh Kant, IAS, were among the notable visitors who graced the ONGC Pavilion on 7 February 2024. Their visit underscored the significance of ONGC's contributions to India's energy landscape. Prior to this, on 6 February 2024, Hon’ble Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas and Labour, Rameswar Teli, also paid a visit to the ONGC Pavilion expressing appreciation for the company's endeavors towards fostering innovation and sustainability in the energy sector.
Central to the pavilion's allure was dedication of the Sea Survival Training Centre, embodying ONGC's core belief in safeguarding every life involved in the energy pursuit. The presence of Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi elevated the occasion, as he dedicated this state-of-the-art facility to the nation on 6 February 2024, raising India's sea survival training to global standards. With safety paramount, the center promised to ensure the security of all involved in offshore operations.
However, the spirit of innovation thrived beyond the sea's edge. The inauguration of the Hydrogen Facility Shed by the Hon’ble Minister of State of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Labour and Employment Rameswar Teli on 6 January 2024 underscored ONGC's resolve to propel India towards a sustainable, carbon-neutral future. Championing hydrogen production and utilization, ONGC has positioned itself at the forefront of clean energy solutions, aligning with the nation's aspirations for environmental stewardship.
Yet, the pavilion was more than a mere display of accomplishments; it offered a tantalizing glimpse into the future. Immersive experiences whisked visitors to the depths of Krishna Godavari Deepwaters, where ONGC's production endeavors were represented with vivid details. Futuristic metaverse training simulations illuminated ONGC's forward-thinking approach to workforce development, ensuring readiness for forthcoming challenges.
At the heart of the pavilion lay the real-time corporate visualization center, ONGC Darpan, providing an insight into the monitoring of pan-India ONGC wells. This transparent showcase demonstrated ONGC's commitment to accountability and transparency in its operations.
However, it was the surprise presentation that truly captivated visitors, seamlessly weaving the IEW theme of "Growth. Collaboration. Transition." into ONGC's narrative. A show-stopping display left attendees invigorated and inspired, eager to join India's energy transition journey.
As the curtains fell on India Energy Week 2024, the ONGC Pavilion stood as a testament to India's visionary ambition. With a roadmap charted towards net-zero emissions by 2038, ONGC not only led the energy transition but also sculpted the trajectory of India's energy landscape. Departing visitors carried with them a renewed sense of purpose, knowing that the voyage towards a sustainable future had only just commenced.
