Ms. Shelly Srivastava is a senior officer of Indian Railways with over a decade of experience across key operational, commercial, and technological domains. She has played a pivotal role in driving large-scale digital and commercial reforms, consistently upholding the principles of integrity, transparency, and accountability.
Her contributions include the modernization of the world’s largest passenger ticketing system to support exponentially higher user volumes. She has been instrumental in introducing e-commerce across commercial operations and in deploying AI-driven tools to enhance passenger experience while effectively addressing fraud and malpractices.
Ms. Srivastava pioneered the first-ever e-tendering and e-registration modules [in 2014] for Leasing, significantly improving transparency in contracting, breaking cartel and generating substantial additional revenue. Her leadership and decision-making abilities were particularly evident during the COVID-19 pandemic, when she led real-time policy interventions and operational innovations to facilitate the safe and timely movement of the nation’s workforce through special train operations under highly constrained conditions.
She has extensive experience in handling sensitive HR and vigilance matters, procurement procedures, revenue systems, and policy formulation and implementation. Her deep understanding of systemic processes enables her to identify vulnerabilities and ensure strict adherence to prescribed norms.
Having led multiple transformative initiatives with a strong emphasis on transparency, efficiency, and integrity, Ms. Srivastava brings a proactive, ethical, and detail-oriented approach. She is well positioned in her new leadership role as Chief Vigilance Officer, ONGC, to strengthen institutional vigilance frameworks while fostering a sustained culture of integrity within the organization.
